HATLEY BABY CLOTHING, COMFORT, STYLE, ECO-FRIENDLY, NATURE INSPIRED
Hatley clothing company grew out of the desperate need of three humorous and business savvy Canadian brothers to feel comfortable, next to naked even, in their clothing. Their father and mother had created Hatley, The Little Blue House, as a line of aprons depicting the iconic images of farm animals, pigs and cows, that were readily visible in their small Quebec town, but when the company was falling down, the brothers stepped up. They utilized the endearing idea of the farm animals, but they knew they needed to expand the product line to stay viable.
The "Infant" section on Hatley's website sells their full collection: coveralls, hoodies, playsets, bibs, and winter bundlers. About 80% of Hatley's clients are gift stores and clothing stores located within ski resorts, hotels, or other tourist spots such as Mont Tremblant . The quality of the clothes allows for the brand to be sold in both mid and high end stores, experiencing a lot of online traffic with sites such as Zappos and Amazon.
Staying true to nature, the clothing is eco-friendly, made with natural fibers, non-chlorinated bleach, and azo-free dyes. Hatley has developed into a full line, for men, women, and children, with a creative edge. The children's bibs are produced with a reference to eating, featuring playful anecdotes below images of nature. For example, an image of a grazing cow is sublined with the words "Udderly Delicious." The brand's consistently cute and funny playful spins on popular culture or popular sayings are inspired, encouraging children to connect and to bring out the "pun" in everyone.
